Synopsis
Book of Blood (2009) is a British horror film directed by John Harrison, adapted from Clive Barker's wraparound story — watch it online on iFILM. Jonas Armstrong plays Simon McNeal, a paranormal researcher brought to a seemingly ordinary house that turns out to sit at a crossroads: one of the invisible highways that souls travel on their way out of the living world. The dead, it turns out, have noticed.
Sophie Ward plays the academic who brings McNeal in, and Clive Russell appears as a menacing figure with his own agenda connected to the house. Doug Bradley — Pinhead from the Hellraiser films — has a role that gives the production a direct line back to Barker's original mythology. The story is built around deception and obsession, and Barker's logic applies throughout: contact with the dead is not something that happens for free.
Barker's horror tends to work slower and stranger than standard genre fare, and Harrison keeps that rhythm. The tagline is printed on the skin of the film's central figure. Stream Book of Blood (2009) online on iFILM.
