Synopsis
Flowers (2016), Season 1 is a British tragicomedy you can watch online on iFILM — six episodes inside the falling-apart home of the Flowers family. Maurice and Deborah are barely a couple, his dotty mother lives upstairs, and their grown twins still haven't grown up.
The season opens on a very black day for Maurice, a children's author sunk deep in depression, then peels the whole family apart from there. Deborah keeps insisting everything is fine — an anniversary here, a dinner with the neighbours there — while her suspicions about her husband quietly mount. Twins Amy and Donald compete for attention and for the charming neighbour Abigail, and Shun, the family's gentle Japanese illustrator, watches the chaos from the edges. Each episode makes the polished front a little harder to hold.
Written and directed by Will Sharpe, with Olivia Colman and Julian Barratt leading. The comedy runs bitter, right up against real pain, and that's exactly what makes the season land for fans of melancholy British humour. Stream Flowers Season 1 online on iFILM.
