Synopsis
Animals United (Konferenz der Tiere, 2010) is a German animated comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Reinhard Klooss and Holger Tappe. Running 90 minutes, the film follows a ragtag coalition of African animals who discover that the river they depend on has been blocked by a human dam built for a luxury resort.
A lion, a ground squirrel, a pelican, a giraffe and a dozen other species end up travelling together toward the dam — and eventually straight into the human world to make their case. The German voice cast includes Christoph Maria Herbst and Bastian Pastewka, lending comic timing to the unlikely diplomatic mission.
The film keeps its environmental argument light. It never lectures; it just lets the chaos of animals in human spaces do the talking. For a family movie night where everyone from age five to fifty-five can laugh at the same scene, this one delivers.
