Synopsis
Mortal Kombat: Legacy (2011) is a fantasy action series based on the legendary fighting game, and you can watch online on iFILM. Built as a prequel web series, it answers one question per episode: how did each fighter end up at the tenth Mortal Kombat tournament?
The structure is the hook — short, self-contained chapters, each centered on a different character. Jax, Sonya Blade and Kano get a grounded crime-thriller origin; the bad blood between Sub-Zero and Scorpion finally gets its backstory; sorcerer Shang Tsung and Princess Kitana step into the light. Casper Van Dien, Ian Anthony Dale and martial-arts veteran Mark Dacascos anchor the cast.
The whole thing grew out of Kevin Tancharoen's short Mortal Kombat: Rebirth, a fan film that blew up on YouTube and dragged the franchise back to a dark, brutal register.
