Ajin (2016), Season 1 is the Japanese sci-fi action anime you can watch online on iFILM — thirteen episodes that open the story of immortals hiding among ordinary people. High-schooler Kei Nagai is hit by a truck, stands back up unhurt, and learns he is an Ajin.
From that second, the whole country is hunting him. There's a bounty on every demi-human, the government wants his body for experiments, and Kei goes on the run with his childhood friend Kaito. The season drags him from raw panic into a lab where he is killed over and over, then into the orbit of Sato — another Ajin who has turned his own immortality into a weapon and is preparing to strike at humans. Along the way Kei starts to command his "black ghost" and is forced to pick a side in a war he wanted no part of.
The show is built in 3D CG animation; it takes a moment to settle into, but the fight choreography earns it. For anyone who likes grim science fiction where the lead is nobody's idea of a hero. Stream Ajin Season 1 online on iFILM.

Kei Nagai is a good student whose life turned upside down when he was struck by a truck. After this accident he discovers that he is an immortal (ajin). Feeling shocked and panic, he runs away to an isolated place. Now he can't trust anyone but his childhood friend Kaito.

Tosaki takes the pursuit of government by Ajin. Kei and Kaito are attacked by bandits in search of rewards.

Kaito and Kei are seen and pursued by another motorcyclist. Meanwhile Yu Tosaki recognises Sato, an Ajin hunter at the original accident scene. The other motorcyclist causes the boys to crash, but Kaito recovers and knocks him unconscious.

When Kei is confronted by the police, he uses his Black Ghost to delay them allowing him to escape into the woods. He uses Ko Nakano’s phone to throw the police off his trail, but Tosaki realizes it's a ruse and closes in.
