It Lives Again

It Lives Again (1978) is a horror sequel you can watch online on iFILM, written and directed by Larry Cohen as a follow-up to his cult hit It's Alive (1974). Frederic Forrest and Kathleen Lloyd lead as parents caught in the crossfire when the government decides that mutant newborns should be eliminated at birth.

The scale has shifted: these infants are turning up across the country, not just one city. A small underground network — including the father from the first film, played again by John P. Ryan — smuggles the babies away before agents can reach them. Cohen uses the creature-feature setup to prod at questions of state authority and what parents owe the children they bring into the world.
