Synopsis
Eastbound & Down (2009), Season 1 is HBO's six-episode comedy you can watch online on iFILM — the show that introduced Kenny Powers, a washed-up baseball star with the ego of a champion and the bank account of a substitute teacher.
That's exactly what he becomes. Out of the majors and out of money, Kenny crawls back to his North Carolina hometown, sleeps on his brother Dustin's couch, and takes a job teaching gym at his old middle school. He won't accept that it's over. So he shills for a car dealership, films a highlight DVD for scouts who aren't watching, and tries to win back April, his high-school flame who is now engaged to the principal. By the close of the season a real offer lands, and Kenny has to choose between the comeback and the people who took him in.
Danny McBride built a small monster here, and producers Will Ferrell and Adam McKay let him run. The humor is crude and gloriously uncomfortable — best for viewers who like their satire mean. Stream Eastbound & Down Season 1 online on iFILM.

Series premiere. Burned out and broke, former big-league pitcher Kenny Powers returns home to North Carolina to teach PE at the local middle school he once attended. Wreaking havoc at school, around town and at the home of his brother Dustin, Kenny settles into his role as the town's loose-cannon agitator, setting his sights on winning back his high-school flame April, now a teacher engaged to the school principal, Terrence Cutler.

Kenny tries to make extra money by pitching himself as spokesman for a luxury car dealership; Kenny and his driver make an appearance at the middle school dance.

Stevie gets a scoop on Kenny's possible competition when he hears of a promising young high school pitcher. Cassie wants to sell off all of Kenny's baseball memorabilia on the computer. Meanwhile, Kenny makes a commitment to a new exercise regimen.

Kenny attends a BBQ at April and Terrence's house where his romantic feelings for April intensify. Later, Stevie puts together a DVD of Kenny's greatest moments in the hopes that the major leagues will notice.

Kenny decides to give up on his dream of returning to professional baseball. Meanwhile, arrogant car dealer Ashley comes back into the picture.

Kenny gets an offer from a professional team and is forced to say goodbye to his family and teaching job.
