Synopsis
Frankenstein's Army (2013) is a found-footage horror you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Richard Raaphorst and co-produced in the Netherlands, Czech Republic and the United States. It's the final stretch of World War II. A Soviet reconnaissance squad pushes deep into German territory and stumbles into a subterranean lab that appears on no map.
Inside, Nazi scientists have been working from the actual journals of Dr. Victor Frankenstein — stitching corpses to metal contraptions and switching them back on. The results don't fit any category: creatures with drills for hands, propeller blades where their heads should be, walking sewn-together nightmares. Karel Roden plays the scientist running the operation, utterly at peace with the carnage. Joshua Sasse leads the soldiers realizing they are badly outnumbered and very much underground.
Raaphorst spent years designing these monsters before he ever shot a frame, and the creature work shows — each one is distinct, purpose-built, and practical rather than digital. For fans of body horror in the Clive Barker tradition who want something with a real wartime edge, this delivers.
