Galactica 1980 (Season 1)
The great ship Galactica, our home for these many years we've endured the wilderness of space. And now, we near the end of our journey: we have, at last, found Earth.
Synopsis
Galactica 1980 is the sci-fi series you can watch online on iFILM, picking up the story three decades after the original Battlestar Galactica. After a thirty-year flight through deep space, the ragtag human fleet finally reaches Earth.
The relief doesn't last. Our planet is far too primitive to stand against the Cylons who have tracked the Galactica all this way. Captain Troy (Kent McCord) and Lieutenant Dillon (Barry Van Dyke) slip down to the surface and team up with reporter Jamie Hamilton (Robyn Douglass) to quietly prepare humanity for the fight, while Lorne Greene returns as Commander Adama. The show was short-lived — just ten episodes on ABC in 1980 — and it's remembered today more as an odd footnote than a triumph, leaning on cheap stunts, gifted kids and flying motorcycles instead of the original's space battles. It's one for retro sci-fi diggers and Galactica completists. Stream every episode of Galactica 1980 online on iFILM.
