Frank Herbert's Children of Dune (Season 1)
Born to rule an empire. Destined to tear it apart.
Synopsis
Frank Herbert's Children of Dune (2003) is a sci-fi miniseries directed by Greg Yaitanes, available to watch online on iFILM. Produced for the Sci Fi Channel as a follow-up to the 2000 Dune adaptation, this three-part production compresses two of Herbert's novels — Dune Messiah and Children of Dune — into roughly four and a half hours of television.
Twelve years have passed since Paul Atreides took the throne. He rules the known universe but his prophetic visions are turning darker, and the empire he built has become something close to a trap. His twin children, Leto and Ghanima, are born with prescience that neither fully controls — and the remnants of House Harkonnen see in them both a threat and an opportunity. Alec Newman reprises the role of Paul, James McAvoy plays the young Leto II, and Susan Sarandon joins as Princess Corrina.
The miniseries doesn't simplify Herbert's ideas about power, prophecy, and ecological fate the way a blockbuster might. That patience is either its weakness or its virtue depending on what you're after. Stream Frank Herbert's Children of Dune (2003) online on iFILM.
