12+Season 1
Synopsis
Agatha Christie's Marple Season 1 — watch online on iFILM: four feature-length mysteries from 2004, with Geraldine McEwan as Miss Marple.
The first season opens four entirely different cases. A strangled girl in an evening dress, unrecognised by anyone, turns up in a country-house library. A disliked colonel is shot in the local vicarage — half the village had reason, no one seems especially sorry. A woman on a train glimpses what looks like a murder in the window of a passing carriage, but there is no body and no one believes her. Then a notice in the local paper announces that a murder will take place the following Friday at 7:30 p.m. at a named address, and the village turns up to watch. Miss Marple's method is consistent across all four: find the story from village life that mirrors the crime, and follow it to the end.
McEwan plays Marple as sharp and watchful, not scatterbrained — that's the choice that makes this version stick. Stream Agatha Christie's Marple Season 1 online on iFILM.
