Synopsis
Rise of the Zombies (2012) is a horror film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Nick Lyon. When the undead overrun San Francisco, a handful of survivors barricade themselves behind the thickest walls they can find — the old prison on Alcatraz Island.
The reprieve doesn't last. Open water stops keeping the dead at bay, and the island fortress turns into a trap. The group's one lead is a rumor: a scientist who may have stumbled onto a cure. Reaching him means heading back to a mainland where the dead far outnumber the living. The cast pulls together familiar faces — Mariel Hemingway, LeVar Burton, Ethan Suplee and Danny Trejo.
This is a no-frills genre B-movie, modest in budget and squarely focused on siege survival and tight corridors. Watch it for exactly what you'd put it on for: zombies, dead ends and mounting hopelessness. Fans of low-budget creature horror will know what they're getting.
