Synopsis

Fingersmith (2005) is a BBC period thriller you can watch online on iFILM. In the grime of Victorian London, orphan and pickpocket Sue Trinder takes a job that should make her rich.

A con man posing as a gentleman recruits her to befriend Maud, a sheltered heiress on a remote country estate. The scheme: help him woo Maud, marry her, seize her fortune, and have her committed to an asylum. What nobody planned for is what grows between the two young women. From there the story turns itself inside out — twice.

Adapted from Sarah Waters' novel, the miniseries packs the plot into three taut episodes directed by Aisling Walsh.
