A summer holiday in Menorca cracks something open: Nick finally sees how much Charlie is struggling, and he can't unsee it. Charlie takes the step of getting real help, and the season follows both of them through the slow work that follows — Nick keeping a journal, their friends finding ways to be present for someone in pain. Tao and Elle try to stay close across different schools. Elle's art goes viral and suddenly the future feels close. By the end of the year, Nick faces a university choice that could put real distance between them.
