Synopsis
Eungyo (2012) is a Korean drama from director Jung Ji-woo, available to watch online on iFILM. A celebrated poet in his seventies feels his youth reignite when seventeen-year-old schoolgirl Eun-gyo wanders into his quiet, isolated home.
The old man is enchanted; his young protégé Seo Ji-woo burns with envy — over the girl and over his mentor's gift. The result is an uneasy triangle where jealousy cuts deeper than desire. Park Hae-il plays the poet under heavy age makeup, while Kim Go-eun made her breakout debut as Eun-gyo. This is really a film about the dread of growing old and the fear of a talent running dry. Slow, beautiful and deliberately uncomfortable — for viewers who want arthouse over melodrama. Stream Eungyo online on iFILM.
