The Cat

The Cat (2011) is a South Korean horror mystery you can watch online on iFILM. So-yeon works at a pet grooming shop and lives with a crippling fear of enclosed spaces. When a client dies, she ends up taking in the woman's Persian cat — a creature with wide, glassy eyes that seem to hold something they shouldn't.

From that day the nightmares start, and the people around her begin dying one by one. Each death is preceded by the same vision: a child, and a pair of feline eyes glowing in the dark. Together with a detective she knows, So-yeon tries to work out what links the victims and how the animal now living in her apartment fits in. Director Byun Seung-wook leans on cramped elevators, narrow hallways and long silences rather than gore. Park Min-young plays a heroine whose claustrophobia becomes its own engine of terror.
