Season 1
The revolution is here.
Synopsis
The Handmaid's Tale Season 1 — watch online on iFILM: ten Hulu episodes drawn from Margaret Atwood's 1985 dystopia.
The United States is gone. Gilead has replaced it — a theocratic military state where women hold no property, no jobs, and no names of their own. Those who are still fertile are assigned to the households of senior commanders as Handmaids, expected to carry children they will immediately surrender. June is Offred now, housed with Commander Waterford and his wife Serena Joy. She had a husband and a daughter; the daughter was taken at a border crossing, the husband's fate unknown. Inside the Waterford house, every person could be reporting to the authorities: the other Handmaids on their daily walks, the Marthas who keep the kitchen, the neighbors who watch from behind curtains. June is learning who she can trust, and what it costs to find out.
The first season moves close and quiet — long silences, flashes of what life looked like before, Elizabeth Moss holding the screen through all of it. Stream The Handmaid's Tale Season 1 all episodes online on iFILM.
