The journal is full of Brad — the ex she left for safety and sense. The more she writes, the harder it is to stop. Cooper finds the notebook, and what follows is not jealousy so much as a question Billie can no longer avoid: which version of herself did she actually choose? Over eight episodes the tension between her present and her past pulls in both directions, and nobody gets an easy exit.
Sex/Life (Netflix, 2021) earned its audience through that honesty — the erotic scenes are present, but the show's real subject is the quiet weight of a life that looks right from the outside.
