Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, Season 1 — watch online on iFILM. Eight episodes, a prequel to the 2001 cult comedy that hands the same Camp Firewood counselors back their youth and sets the whole thing on a single chaotic summer.

The year is 1981. On the very first morning, the counselors are already chasing each other instead of the campers, while something genuinely sinister stirs in the woods. The season then ticks through a camp day almost hour by hour: lunch, activities, auditions for the homemade staff musical "Electro-City," dinner, the staff party. A journalist goes undercover for a story, Coop pines hopelessly, Beth and Greg get dragged into a lawsuit, and a satellite called the Falcon literally drops out of the sky. The dumber the premise, the straighter the cast plays it.

Originals David Wain and Michael Showalter made this one for Netflix, and the ensemble is absurd on paper — Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Chris Pine, Elizabeth Banks and Christopher Meloni, all A-listers by 2015 playing teenagers with a completely straight face.
