Synopsis
Romasanta: The Werewolf Hunt (2004) is a Spanish horror you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Paco Plaza, later the man behind the [REC] films, it drops you into 1850s Galicia, where mutilated bodies keep turning up and panic hardens into a single rumour: a werewolf walks these woods.
Manuel Romasanta (Julian Sands) is a charming travelling salesman who can win over anyone. Barbara (Elsa Pataky) falls hard for him — until her sister, whom Manuel offered to escort to the city, vanishes without a trace. The closer Barbara looks, the stranger the wounds seem. They are too clean, too deliberate for any animal. Something colder than a beast is at work.
The story comes from the real case of Manuel Blanco Romasanta, often called Spain's first documented serial killer, a man who stood trial insisting he turned into a wolf. Plaza skips the full-moon folklore and builds a chillier portrait of a predator hiding behind a legend. A good pick if you like grim European horror rooted in something that actually happened.
