Windstruck

Windstruck (2004) is Korean director Kwak Jae-yong's romance you can watch online on iFILM. Off-duty cop Kyung-jin chases down a bag-snatcher and grabs the wrong man — Myung-woo, a passer-by who was himself trying to catch the real thief.

That clumsy mix-up is where it all begins. Kyung-jin, played by Jun Ji-hyun, is hot-tempered and quick to draw her gun; Myung-woo, a gentle physics teacher played by Jang Hyuk, mostly just goes along with her. The first half plays as breezy romantic comedy, then the film turns sharply and becomes something far heavier than you signed up for. Keep tissues close for the back half.

Kwak made this as a spiritual follow-up to My Sassy Girl, again built around Jun Ji-hyun, and fans still argue over which one breaks your heart harder. The tagline — "If only I can feel you... even as the wind" — tells you where it's headed. Stream Windstruck (2004) online on iFILM.
