Animale (2024) is a French folk-horror by Emma Benestan you can watch online on iFILM. The setting is the Camargue, that flat, salt-bleached corner of southern France where bulls are raised and raced. Nejma trains to compete in the local bullfighting ring, determined to hold her own among the men.

The night after her debut blurs into a haze she can't piece together. Come morning, there are deep wounds on her skin and no clear cause. Then young men around the marshes start turning up mauled, talk spreads of a rogue bull on the loose, and the village reaches for its rifles. Oulaya Amamra carries the whole thing as a woman feeling something wake up inside her, and the film refuses to name that something until it has to.
