Synopsis
Seven Days (Les 7 jours du talion, 2010) is a Quebec thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Podz. Bruno Hamel is a surgeon in Drummondville. His eight-year-old daughter is raped and murdered. The man responsible is caught within days. Then Bruno makes a plan.
He kidnaps the killer, phones the police to tell them exactly what he intends to do over the next seven days, and promises to give himself up when it is over. Claude Legault carries the film — Bruno is not a monster, not a hero, just a man doing something the audience cannot fully condemn or fully endorse. Detective Morales, played by Rémy Girard, works the case from the outside, a counterweight trying to find a legal or moral framework for a situation that resists both. Director Podz refuses to soften any of it, and he never lets the film turn into exploitation either — every brutal scene lands with weight rather than spectacle.
