Synopsis
Late Night Trains (L'ultimo treno della notte, 1975) is Aldo Lado's Italian-German horror thriller, available to watch online on iFILM. Two students, Margaret and Lisa, board an overnight train out of Munich, heading to Italy to spend Christmas with Lisa's parents.
What should be a simple holiday trip curdles fast. The girls cross paths with a pair of thugs and a coldly disturbed woman travelling with them, and the cramped corridors of the carriage close in like a trap. The horror does not end at the station — it follows everyone involved into a house where the wrong people are waiting. Made in the shadow of America's The Last House on the Left, the film became one of the most notorious entries in seventies Italian genre cinema and was cut by censors across Europe. Ennio Morricone supplies a score far gentler than the events on screen, and a young Irene Miracle, soon to break out in Midnight Express, appears among the cast. This one trades entertainment for sheer discomfort, so know what you are getting into. Stream Late Night Trains (1975) online on iFILM.
