Synopsis
The OA (2016), Season 1 — eight episodes of Netflix mystery drama to watch online on iFILM. The series opens with a return: Prairie Johnson vanished seven years ago, blind and a teenager. She surfaces at a hospital sighted, with deep scars across her back, offering nothing about where she's been.
She starts slipping out at night, gathering five strangers in a neighbor's basement — a teacher on the edge, a difficult kid, two brothers, their father. She needs them to hear everything. The story she tells moves between two timelines: her captivity in a soundproofed cell beneath the house of a scientist named Hap, and the suburban present where the five sit trying to decide whether to believe her. Homer, Scott, Rachel, Renata share that cell. Hap runs near-death experiments on them; the prisoners call what they are searching for "the movements" — a set of gestures that might open something.
