Synopsis
The Dead Girls (Las muertas, 2025), Season 1 — a six-episode Mexican crime drama you can watch online on iFILM. It draws on Jorge Ibargüengoitia's novel and the real case of the Baladro sisters, who ran a chain of brothels across 1960s Mexico.
The season opens almost like a soap: Serafina's fling with Simón the baker sours, and the wounded madam wants payback. Then it darkens. A new morality law and a scheming secretary chip away at the sisters' empire, the police shut one house down, and the Baladros retreat to a ranch they buy to cover their tracks. Captain Bedoya rules the brothel by force, the women push back, and the family's backyard quietly fills with things that will eventually be dug up.
