Synopsis
Marco Polo (2014), Season 1 is Netflix's historical drama you can watch online on iFILM — ten episodes following a young Venetian who ends up at the court of a Mongol emperor. His father trades him to Kublai Khan as collateral, and the traveler becomes a hostage almost overnight.
What follows is a slow education in a foreign empire. Marco picks up Mongol and Chinese custom, martial training from the blind monk Hundred Eyes, and the rules of a palace where justice arrives as fast as it kills. To the south, war gathers over the walled city of Xiangyang: chancellor Jia Sidao schemes, Prince Jingim tries his hand at diplomacy, and Kublai keeps pulling the Venetian close, then doubting his loyalty. A risky affair with the Blue Princess and a plot against the Khan only tighten the knot.
