Synopsis
Ethos (Bir Başkadır, 2020) is a Turkish drama series you can watch online on iFILM, written and directed by Berkun Oya. Eight characters from opposite ends of Istanbul's social spectrum — a devout housekeeper, a secular therapist, a television actor, a local imam — are pulled into each other's orbits, often without meaning to be.
The series moves slowly, and that's entirely the point. Starring Ойку Карael and Funda Eryiğit, it leans on silence and looks more than plot mechanics. Class, faith, loneliness and personal fracture all surface through small, specific moments — a therapy session that shifts direction, a prayer interrupted by a phone call. It's one of the rare Turkish productions that got international pickup on Netflix without chasing a global format; it simply captured something true about a city split in two directions at once.
