Season 1
Who drew the dicks?
Synopsis
American Vandal (2017), Season 1 is a Netflix true-crime mockumentary you can watch online on iFILM — eight episodes built around one gloriously stupid question. Senior Dylan Maxwell gets expelled after crude drawings show up on 27 faculty cars.
Sophomore Peter Maldonado decides to document the case, and the deeper he digs, the shakier the school's verdict looks. He picks apart the story of boastful witness Alex Trimboli, questions Spanish teacher Ms. Shapiro, and zeroes in on the handful of students who could reach the missing camera footage. The whole investigation hangs on a premise that sounds like a joke yet plays it completely straight.
What makes the season click is the gap between juvenile vandalism and the meticulous tone of a serious docuseries. Good for anyone who watches true crime and is happy to laugh at it. Stream American Vandal Season 1 online on iFILM.
