Synopsis
A fisherman hauls a half-dead man out of the water, two bullets in his back and no memory of his own name. That's where The Bourne Identity (1988) begins — a spy miniseries from Robert Ludlum's novel that you can watch online on iFILM.
Richard Chamberlain plays Jason Bourne, a man with one clue to his past: a Swiss bank account number hidden in his body. The more he digs, the more strangers turn up wanting him dead. He crosses paths with Marie (Jaclyn Smith), and together they move across Europe trying to settle a single question — is Bourne a master agent or a killer for hire? Director Roger Young lets the mystery unwind slowly over two parts, trading set-pieces for character.
This is the original telling, the 1988 TV version made long before Matt Damon took the role. It's talky and old-fashioned, leaning on its actors instead of car chases. Worth a look for fans of classic Cold War espionage, or anyone curious how it stacks up against the 2002 remake. Stream The Bourne Identity (1988) online on iFILM.
