The Smith family is back at the center. Genius drunk scientist Rick drags grandson Morty across dimensions, Summer covers for their escapades, and Beth and Jerry try to hold the household together. The tone here is slower and gloomier than the original: more inner drama, plenty of nods to classic anime, and a connected throughline that runs across the whole run instead of resetting each episode.
