Anthropoid

Anthropoid (2016) is Sean Ellis's wartime thriller, available to watch online on iFILM. One December night in 1941, two Czech paratroopers drop into Nazi-held Prague carrying a single order: kill the man the whole protectorate feared.

Jozef (Cillian Murphy) and Jan (Jamie Dornan) link up with a frayed resistance network, move between safe flats, fall for two local women, and slowly grasp how slim their odds of survival are. Their target is Reinhard Heydrich, an architect of the Holocaust known around the city as the Butcher of Prague. Ellis builds the dread quietly through small domestic moments, then collapses it into one street ambush and one church crypt where it all comes down to ammunition and nerve.

The film reconstructs what actually unfolded in the spring of 1942 and refuses to soften the reckoning that followed. Shot in the real Prague, with Ellis serving as his own cinematographer, it strips the heroics out of the resistance story. A hard, unsentimental pick for anyone after a war drama with no gloss.
