Synopsis
The Poseidon Adventure (2005) is a TV disaster film you can watch online on iFILM. Director John Putch reworks the classic capsized-liner story for a modern audience and stretches it across nearly three hours.
The luxury cruise ship Poseidon carries some twenty-five hundred passengers and rings in the New Year far out at sea. Hidden among the crew is a terrorist, Kassim, who has rigged the vessel to blow. The captain races for the nearest port, but the catastrophe can't be called back: the enormous ship rolls belly-up and starts its slow descent into black water. A scattered band of survivors — led by a priest and a homeland security agent — claws upward through the inverted decks toward the hull, now the only way out.
The cast is stacked with familiar names: Rutger Hauer, Steve Guttenberg, Adam Baldwin, Peter Weller and Alex Kingston. This isn't the 1972 original or Wolfgang Petersen's big-screen remake — it's the leaner television version, built around the terror-plot angle and that long, grinding climb to the top.
