The Four

The Four (四大名捕, 2012) is a Chinese wuxia fantasy-action film you can watch online on iFILM. Directors Gordon Chan and Janet Chun adapt a beloved series of novels about four crime-fighters with supernatural gifts, with Deng Chao and Liu Yifei — the future Disney Mulan — leading the cast.

It opens like a police story: a corrupt intelligence chief plants an agent inside a rival department to wreck their counterfeit-money case. But the fake currency hides something far darker. The forgers want to seize the capital, and they're raising an army of the undead to do it. Standing against them is an odd quartet — a young woman who reads minds, a master with iron arms, a bounty hunter and a green constable. The film runs on stylized fights, lavish costumes and gleeful CGI sorcery rather than airtight plotting. Worth a watch if you like your Eastern fantasy big, weird and a little goofy.
