Underdog

Underdog (2007) is a family sci-fi comedy you can watch online on iFILM. A lab accident turns an ordinary beagle named Shoeshine into the world's first superpowered dog — one who can fly, talk, and wears a red caped suit.

Shoeshine ends up living with a boy named Jack and his cop father, all while protecting the city from a mad scientist, Simon Barsinister, played by Peter Dinklage. Jason Lee voices the talking hero; the cast also pulls in Amy Adams, James Belushi and Patrick Warburton. It runs a brisk 82 minutes, so younger kids won't lose the thread.

Director Frederik Du Chau builds the film on the 1960s cartoon of the same name. Don't expect much beyond talking dogs and chase gags, but for a family movie night with small kids, that's the point. Stream Underdog (2007) online on iFILM.
