Synopsis
The Legend of Awesomest Maximus (2011) is a National Lampoon spoof comedy you can watch online on iFILM — a crude send-up of 300, Troy and every sword-and-sandal epic going.
Awesomest Maximus (Will Sasso), a general braver than he is bright, is ordered by the King of Troy to escort Prince Orlando to Greece and smooth over a brewing feud. Instead the prince hauls off a gorgeous foreign princess, the insulted Greek ruler marches a million-man army on Troy, and Maximus answers with three hundred Spartans. From there it's all low gags, dumb sight jokes and relentless mockery of blockbuster bombast.
Directed by Jeff Kanew, the film rounds up Kristanna Loken, Rip Torn and Tony Cox and aims for exactly one thing: laughing at the self-serious epic. The humor is broad and often filthy — a beer-and-buddies watch, not a critics' darling. Stream The Legend of Awesomest Maximus (2011) online on iFILM.
