Synopsis
The Shortcut (2009) is an American horror-thriller you can watch online in good quality on iFILM. A small town tells one story over and over: the trail through the woods gets you to school faster than any road, but an old man lives beside it, and kids who walked it alone never came home.
Derek is the new boy in town, and he doesn't buy the legend. So he and a handful of friends take the forbidden path to find out whether anything real hides behind the warning. Dave Franco turns up in an early role alongside Katrina Bowden and Drew Seeley, while Raymond J. Barry plays the old man — and his silent stare unsettles you long before any blood spills. The woods turn out to be far less empty than they hoped.
Directed by Nicholaus Goossen, this is a lean, no-frills genre piece built on the oldest setup there is: teenagers told to stay away, who go anyway. A hundred minutes, no more than it needs.
