Synopsis
Lilly the Witch: The Dragon and the Magic Book (2009) is a German family fantasy you can watch online on iFILM. A schoolgirl named Lilly stumbles on an old spellbook in the attic — and a grumpy, cat-sized dragon called Hector who comes attached to it.
One clumsy incantation later, Lilly and Hector are tumbling through time, landing in one scrape after another while she tries to keep her new powers hidden from everyone at home. Director Stefan Ruzowitzky — who took the foreign-language Oscar for The Counterfeiters — keeps the whole thing gentle and bright. It's pitched squarely at younger kids: no real scares, a friendly hand-drawn dragon, and a heroine who learns that magic causes about as much trouble as it solves.
