Synopsis

Marcus Goldman, a novelist blocked mid-career, drives to New Hampshire to visit his mentor Harry Quebert. He arrives the same week Harry gets arrested. Human remains found on Harry's property belong to Nola Kellergan, a fifteen-year-old who vanished in 1975. Marcus launches his own investigation — Harry is facing execution, and the lawyers are getting nowhere.

The season runs two timelines in parallel: 1975 flashbacks peel back what Harry and Nola actually were to each other, while 2008 scenes pile on fresh evidence, anonymous threats, and a hacker who breaks into Marcus's manuscript.
