Synopsis
Left-Handed Girl (2025) is a Taiwanese family drama you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Shih-Ching Tsou, who wrote and cut it alongside Sean Baker, the film carries that loose, almost-documentary feel of Taipei after dark.
A single mother moves to the capital and sets up a noodle stand in the crush of a night market. She brings two daughters: a teenager already carrying more weight than her age should allow, and her little sister, who is left-handed. The balance holds until the grandfather lets a sentence slip — the left hand is the "devil's" hand, and the child must never use it. That small superstition pulls a thread, and at the end of it sits something the family buried years ago.
It premiered in Critics' Week at Cannes and was shot mostly on the move, inside the real bustle of the market, which is where its warmth and its raw edge come from. This is a story about three generations of women, about shame and acceptance, and how one petty rule can crack open a much larger secret. Stream Left-Handed Girl (2025) online on iFILM.
