Synopsis
The Kindness of Strangers (2019) is a drama from director Lone Scherfig you can watch online on iFILM. Clara flees an abusive husband with her two young sons, arriving in a freezing New York with little more than a car that soon gets towed away. No money, no shelter, no map for what comes next.
Her lifeline turns out to be a Russian restaurant called the Winter Palace, where she first sneaks in just to steal food. The place becomes a crossroads for people quietly falling apart: Marc (Tahar Rahim), tasked with reviving the failing eatery; Alice (Andrea Riseborough), a nurse who can't stop volunteering; and a drifting ex-con played by Caleb Landry Jones. Zoe Kazan leads, with Bill Nighy and Jay Baruchel rounding out the ensemble.
