Bryant is an ex-cop who chose to disappear — a small border town in Mexico, an unremarkable life, nothing that draws attention. He ends up mentoring a local teenager whose mother just died and who's already on a gang's radar, teaching him martial arts and stepping into the role of father figure. Then Bryant's past arrives regardless. Straightforward genre action that doesn't reach beyond its own scope, but Berenger brings more weight than the script requires.
