Synopsis

Mason fakes a car accident, claims he's too injured to join his wife on a mountain hiking trip, then acts. The scheme holds. For a while. Criminal psychiatrist Dr. Granville (Sidney Greenstreet) starts pulling at loose threads, and Mason's composure begins to cost him something. The plan was watertight. His nerves were not.
Bogart playing the calculating killer rather than the tough-but-noble hero is the real point of entry here.
