Suburra: Blood on Rome (Suburra: La serie, 2017) is an Italian crime drama you can watch online on iFILM — Netflix's first original Italian series. Set in 2008, it maps a collision between three powers: a seaside crime clan from Ostia, a Rome mob family, and the Vatican itself, all circling the same stretch of coastal land earmarked for a casino.

Alessandro Borghi plays Aureliano Adami, a young street boss who needs allies he can't trust. Giacomo Ferrara is Gabriele Vaccari, a senator's son sliding deeper into the drug trade, and Spadino leads his Roma clan with the kind of casual violence that unnerves even the organised crime side of the table. None of them are wrong about each other. The series was co-directed by Andrea Molaioli, Giuseppe Capotondi and Michele Placido, among others, giving each arc its own texture.
