Synopsis

The Sicilian Clan (Le Clan des Siciliens, 1969) is a French crime thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Director Henri Verneuil pulled off one of cinema's great casting coups: Jean Gabin, Alain Delon and Lino Ventura — three pillars of European crime cinema — sharing the screen for the only time.

Gangster Roger Sartet (Delon) breaks free from a prison transfer van with help from aging Sicilian patriarch Vittorio Manalese (Gabin). The deal: Sartet joins the family's most ambitious job yet — stealing a diamond collection mid-flight between Rome and New York. Closing in on all of them is Inspector Lépic (Ventura), a man whose patience is the most dangerous thing about him.

Verneuil treats the heist like a chess match: the mechanics are meticulous, but the real tension lives in the friction between three very different men with very different ideas of loyalty. Ennio Morricone's score holds the whole thing together. Stream The Sicilian Clan (1969) online on iFILM.
