The Colony

The Colony (Tides, 2021) is a Swiss-German sci-fi thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Tim Fehlbaum. It takes the standard post-apocalypse setup and strips it down to something genuinely bleak: a drowned Earth, a collapsing colony, and one woman caught between two groups of survivors who see her as a means to an end.

After ecological collapse, the surviving elite escaped to Kepler-209. Life there is possible — reproduction is not. Something in the atmosphere prevents it. Louise (Nora Arnezeder) is part of a three-person mission sent back to Earth to assess whether the planet can support life again. The ship goes down on landing. She's the only one who walks away. The people she finds living in the mud have survived for decades — and they have no interest in making way for a returning class that abandoned them. Iain Glen and Sope Dirisu complete the main cast.
