Synopsis
Generation Kill (2008), Season 1 is the HBO war drama you can watch online on iFILM — seven episodes covering the first forty days of the Iraq invasion, built from Rolling Stone reporter Evan Wright's dispatches from inside a Humvee.
It opens in Kuwait, at Camp Mathilda. Bravo Company cleans weapons, waits on orders, and grumbles about the journalist now riding along. Then the column rolls north. Nasiriyah, Al-Gharraf, an ambushed bridge, checkpoints thrown up on the edge of every town. Wright's eye lands less on the firefights than on the men — Marines who curse, screw up, and turn brave by turns, and officers whose calls keep them alive one hour and expose them the next. By the time First Recon reaches Baghdad, telling enemy from civilian has become the hardest job of all.

First Recon get their orders to cross a local Iraqi bridge, which gives them their first chance to use local Iraqi citizens. As First Recon gets closer to the bridge, they are ambushed.

First Recon get their next mission, which is to help escort the Iraqi civilians leaving Baghdad from a nearby highway, while trying to help them flee, the men see the humanity in the Iraqi civilians; First Recon come to the realization that since Baghdad is the next stop for American and Coalition forces, their war is almost at a close.

Having reached Baghdad, Bravo Team is shocked at the size of the city; while First Recon begin doing their daily patrols in Baghdad, they find out the obstacles that they and the Iraqis face is much greater than they could ever think of.
