Synopsis
Hush (2008) is a British thriller with a horror edge that you can watch online on iFILM. Mark Tonderay's debut feature pins you to one empty stretch of motorway at night and rarely lets you leave it. Zakes is driving, his girlfriend Beth dozes beside him, and ahead lie hundreds of miles of wet tarmac with not another soul in sight.
It all unravels in a second. As a white truck overtakes them, its rear shutter rides up just long enough for Zakes to glimpse something he was never meant to see. Then, at the next service station, Beth is gone from the car. No proof, no witnesses, no one coming to help — so Zakes does the only thing left and chases the truck into the dark himself. William Ash carries most of the film on the raw nerve of a cornered man.
Tonderay keeps it lean: few characters, almost no score, and a lot of pressing silence in roadside lay-bys and petrol stations. This is a tight, mean little thriller for anyone who likes dread that comes from the ordinary rather than from monsters. Stream Hush (2008) online on iFILM.
