Synopsis
The Monkey King 3 (2018) is a Chinese-Hong Kong fantasy film you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Soi Cheang, it is the third chapter in the franchise adapting the classic novel Journey to the West.
The Monkey King and his companions reach a kingdom with no men — the queen, played by Zhao Liying, has no intention of letting her new arrivals leave. Aaron Kwok and Feng Shaofeng reprise their roles from the earlier films, while Xiao Shenyang handles most of the comic relief. Compared to the first two installments, this one leans romantic and courtly over spectacle — fewer battle sequences, more palace drama and feeling.
