TV-GSynopsis
Season 22 of How It's Made — watch online on iFILM, 13 episodes from 2013 — leans further into engineering than most. Carbon fibre, wind turbines, electric motorcycles, superchargers: the season reads like a snapshot of where manufacturing was heading.
The other fifty-odd items keep the format grounded. Blast doors share an episode with lipstick; solid-state drives with eye shadow and a limousine. Episode nine covers life casting — making a mould directly from a living subject — alongside compression hosiery. Episode three runs only three items: an Indy steering wheel, mixed salad, and a full wind turbine, and the runtime still fills itself. The contrast between defence-grade blast doors and cake icing appearing within the same season is the kind of thing this show does better than anyone. Thirteen episodes, and none of them wastes a minute.
